Explore the Over-the-Rhine district: a historical district packed with tons of restaurants, bars, shopping and the famous Findlay Market. Need a good excuse to get away for the weekend? Check out the Homecoming Music Festival or the Taste of Cincinnati festival. Take a trip to the Queen City and explore some of the most historical areas in the US. The Over-the-Rhine district is one of the largest urban historical districts in the country, so you can soak in traditional American architecture, food and more! Keep in mind, you might be surprised to find that Cincinnatians typically drive to wherever they need to go. In the US, it’s a lot more common to drive everywhere because cities tend to be more spread out. No worries, though. Cincinnati also has a bus system that will get you all around the downtown areas. Things to Do in Cincinnati

Cincinnati Airport: Snag flights to Cincinnati and you’ll most likely be flying into the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). You might be surprised to find that the Cincinnati airport is actually in Kentucky, not Ohio! No worries, though, because Cincinnati is right on the border of the two states. Once you land, you can take the 2X “Airporter” shuttle from the airport to downtown for just $2. It comes to the airport once every hour, and it’ll take you downtown in about 30 minutes. Driving in Cincinnati is pretty easy, but if you don’t want to rent a car, you can take a bus, Uber around the city or just walk!

Cincinnati Hotels: Looking for a great place to stay? Consider staying outside of downtown Cincinnati. For example, try the Radisson Hotel Cincinnati. It’s just across the Ohio River, you’ll save some money and you’re still just a quick bus or bike ride away from the heart of downtown. A win-win! Want to stay closer to all the bustle of downtown? The Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza is centrally located to dozens of shops, restaurants and museums. Another great option is the Cincinnatian Hotel. Both are within walking of the famous Fountain Square (a popular spot for outdoor concerts) and are close to the light rail shuttle that will get you to all of Cincinnati’s hot spots.

Cincinnati Weather: Despite its reputation for being freezing most of the year, the weather in Cincinnati can be really beautiful in the summer! The best time of the year to visit Cincinnati is definitely between May and September, when the temperatures are in the mid-70s to mid-80s. The summer months also offer dozens of food and music festivals and barely any rain. If you don’t mind braving the cold, traveling to Cincinnati between March and April or October and November can be a great way to save some cash! Just don’t forget your winter coat. One place in Cincinnati that you should visit any time of year? Fountain Square. In the summer, it’s home to dozens of events, concerts and markets, and in the winter, it hosts a giant ice rink.

Cincinnati Must-Sees: Cincinnati has tons to offer whether you’re staying for a few weeks or just a few days. Check out the Cincinnati Art Museum, one of the oldest art museums in the US. Even better, it’s free! The American Sign Museum, packed with hundreds of neon and historical signs from across America, is the perfect place to get a unique peek at American culture (and get some really good pics for the ‘gram). Take a kayak or tubing trip down the Little Miami River with Fifty West. Hungry from all that exploring? Of course you are. Fill up on Cincinnati’s three-way chili from Skyline Chili (spaghetti topped with chili and shredded cheese, seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg and chocolate) and classic homemade ice cream from Graeter’s Ice Cream. If you’re feeling a little dehydrated, drink up at the Below Zero Lounge (rated one of the best bars in the city) or take a tour of one of more than 30 craft breweries in Cincinnati. Rhinegeist is one of the largest and has an epic rooftop bar. Score.
